BEACHSIDE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP GOES DIGITAL
When the old analogue console at Beachside Christian Fellowship decided to go into retirement recently, Forefront Productions got the call to provide an up-to-date, speedy replacement. After consultation with Ps Matt Blake & team leader Darren Alchin, it was agreed that it was time for a move to digital with the Allen & Heath SQ 5 being the perfect solution for the church, filling both current and future requirements and budget criteria.
Forefront’s Matt Wever installed the SQ5 console coupled with an AR2412 stage rack allowing for 24 inputs & 12 outputs to be connected at the Stage, whilst a further 16 inputs & 12 outputs can also be connected locally at the Desk. A total of 48 input channels & 36 internal busses are available for processing in the console. Since the church currently uses only 60% of the available I/O (Inputs/Outputs), the system immediately provides significant room for growth whilst also offering numerous options (additional stage racks & personal mixing hardware) for future expansion, when required.
With a quick turn-a-round from the analogue console dying to date of install and on-site training with the church's team, the system was back up & running. Immediately, the sonic improvement was obvious. Darren commented that despite all the additional features of the SQ5, he was confident the workflow would be much simpler than their previous console.
Forefront’s Matt Wever explains “The SQ series from Allen & Heath offers the most comprehensive digital audio eco-system of any competitive console. It offers a huge selection of compatible I/O racks, multiple options for USB recording, access for musicians via phone/tablet apps, connection to the ME personal mixing system, simple workflow & sonic quality well beyond its price-point"
