The Crowd goes Wild for DiGiCo, Adamson and Sennheiser - Forefront & Kpop Wild Music Festival 2023

When JK Entertainment Australia went looking for a fully capable audio package for the 2023 KPOP Wild Music Festival, they landed with Forefront Productions to supply and hand over an impressive and comprehensive system.

KPOP Wild Music Festival would be a celebration of all things K-pop music - a genre with a rapidly growing fanbase in Australia. With three renowned groups taking the stage at Qudos Bank Arena - The Boyz, Infinite and Nmixx - It would be up to the team at Forefront to design a powerful audio system to accomodate the multiple acts and bring the venue to life.

For this event, Forefront would need to supply a flexible but advanced console that could be easily handed over to KPOP Wild’s own audio engineer. With both the power and flexibility needed to mix an impressive show, the DiGiCo Quantum 338, with an Optocore Fiber backbone and SD Rack was the perfect choice, giving Kpop’s audio engineer an extensive 128 input channels and 64 aux/sub-group busses to work with.

As with every event, Forefront’s Adamson CS Line Array system had room to shine, with its fantastic audio coverage and exceptional fidelity creating a wonderful listening experience for everyone in the room. Forefront’s extensive inventory meant that it could easily handle the size of the room, flying a total of 36 CS10 elements for the main arrays, 28 CS119 Sub elements and 24 CS7 elements for outfills. The team also deployed 14 Nexo PS15’s for on-stage wedges, powered by a NXAMP4x1.

Having a variety of groups with a multitude of performers would mean a magnitude of wireless microphones and monitors. The Forefront team were well prepared to deal with the added complexity of this dense RF deployment, ensuring that the performances could progress without a hitch. A total of 10 Sennheiser EW-DX microphones were supplied, along with 24 Sennheiser EW G4 IEM packs.

It was a pleasure supplying the audio system for the night and playing a small part in bringing this impressive night to life. We look forward to seeing K-pop continue to gain popularity down under!
