The Value of Stewardship: How to make the most of what you’ve already have.

In the world of facilitating environments and experiences of worship, what does good stewardship look like?

A common challenge we’ve noticed churches grapple with is getting the most out of their audio, video, and lighting setup without compromising the quality of their worship experience or their financial health.

Don’t just throw money at the problem

When issues arise or limitations become apparent, buying new equipment isn’t always the solution. Before drawing up a shopping list, a prudent first objective should be to maximise the potential of the existing set-up. Our team actively work with churches to help them to identify opportunities with existing equipment. On the flip side, failing to invest in necessary updates or fixes can lead to dysfunctional systems, held together week-to-week by the goodwill of a stretched and stressed- out production team. This isn’t good stewardship either, as an ineffective system can be just as costly as anything else.

Here are three things that any church can do, to make the best use of the system and equipment they already have.

1 - Get a Tune Up

Calling our experts to identify and verify any system weaknesses, implement fixes, and optimise your audio, video and lighting is a solid first step. This may look like tuning your PA, re-patching equipment, running diagnostics, scanning for wireless issues, or anything in between.

Often church leadership can recognise that a problem exists, or improvements can be made, but don’t know where to start. Our technicians have a keen eye for optimizing church worship spaces, and often the difference a tune-up brings is immediately noticeable.

2 - Training

Investing in people is a sure-fire way to up-skill individuals and bring ease to worship services. Untrained, volunteers can feel overwhelmed, operating gear ineffectively or improperly, or simply may not be aware of the certain great capabilities of the equipment at their fingertips each week. Training from our expert team can bring an exponential return on investment. As active members of our local churches, we have a unique insight into how to approach audio mixing, lighting design and video directing for worship services. It’s all about equipping your volunteers and empowering them to bring the most out of what they have.

3 - Take Good Care

Without proper maintenance, even the most rugged and durable equipment will deteriorate. Often problems and repairs can be avoided and minimised, by simply taking good care and scheduling regular maintenance.

Being good stewards doesn’t merely mean saving money, it entails being effective with what we have, in reaching the lost and extending the kingdom of God. At Forefront’s core is a passion to see churches thrive, regardless of their size or budget – it’s why we’re intentional with every project and ministry we work with.
